During the Covid-19 pandemic, Regatta faced major supply chain disruption alongside the rest of the industry. The Ever Given vessel becoming wedged across the Suez Canal compounded the problem further, blocking hundreds of ships and disrupting trade worldwide. Regatta needed a freight partner who could respond fast, with real solutions rather than excuses.
ITD Global responded quickly with a combination of services across Regatta's supply chain: charter vessels from mainland China into the UK, rail freight from 13 terminals across China, and air freight for urgent purchase orders from Far East Asia. ITD Global also provided sea-air services from Myanmar into both Regatta's UK and Polish distribution centres. Throughout, ITD Global worked closely with Regatta's operations team, with visibility provided through live Freight Management Software and regular, transparent communication.
Despite the pandemic and the Suez Canal blockage, Regatta's supply chain continued operating without major interruption. Charter vessels, rail freight and air freight combined to give Regatta the flexibility to move stock by whichever route worked depending on urgency, while the sea-air solution from Myanmar kept both UK and Polish distribution centres supplied during a period when conventional routes were under pressure. Real-time tracking through live Freight Management Software and one point of regular, transparent contact kept Regatta's customers and internal teams informed and reassured throughout.
